It is important to have clean clothes that smell good and that have been ironed. Not only is it pleasant for you, but it also helps give a nice impression to your entourage and your employer. Unfortunately, it is not always obvious to do washes, despite what we may think. Some people are even discouraged when they have to do this chore. Here are 10 washing hacks to absolutely know and that will simplify your life.

Turning one’s clothes before washing them is a good way of keeping them longer. By doing this very simple hack, you will ensure the colours and fabric of your clothes are still nice for many years.

2. Tie all your clothes’ ties

Do you have some ties or belts incorporated into your clothes? If yes, tie them. You will avoid having to undo tons of knots after your wash cycle is over.

3. Clip your bras and close your pant zippers

This doesn’t ask you a lot of effort but yet, this can help you avoid many annoyances! Bra ties can easily hook to your other clothes and make holes (like in lacy underwear or wool sweater). You don’t need to button your clothes buttons: you risk damaging them. Also, empty all the pockets before starting a wash.

4. Place your delicate clothes in a pillowcase

If you have delicate clothing pieces (for example, lace tops or lingerie) and you don’t have any special washing bags made especially for those kind of clothes, you can always place them in a pillowcase. You will protect your delicate pieces from getting snagged and this will ensure they last longer. We suggest you sew a button on the exterior part of the pillowcase. Your clothes will stay in the pillowcase during the whole washing cycle.

5. Use water and corn starch

You hate ironing your shirts because this simple task takes a lot of your time? Mix water and corn starch and spray the mixture on your shirt before ironing it. It will be much easier to iron them because the iron will easily slide on the fabric.

6. Glue clothes pins on a wood plank

Glue clothes pins with a hot glue gun on a wooden plank and then pin your solidary socks on the plank. You will never lose your socks again and it will make it easier for you to have time to find their partner.
